The Challenges of Re-opening
Most of us have heard the Government say that we can now return to worshipping in church. However, every church is having to prepare risk assessments both to Government Guidelines and also to denominational guidelines, to work out how and when this can be done safely, and these guidelines are changing on a regular basis.
Ruxley Church is no different. We have completed our risk assessment and are working out how to meet these requirements. Cleaning, social distancing, contact details for Covid tracing, and much more. No singing, keeping our distance from each other, possibly wearing masks, rushing away afterwards, no coffee. Not as we remember it. You might like to see this video made by Motherwell South Parish Church on their thoughts on returning. However, we are still an active church family. We hold prayer meetings and some housegroups via Zoom and we pastorally care for each other by phone and socially distanced in person. We have a special Keeping in Touch newsletter sent out every fortnight, and a printed service is sent out each week by email and delivered personally to those without internet access and is also available on our website and facebook page. We also provide links to other weekly services on youtube, both from our Anglican and Methodist Traditions.
So please be patient, continue trusting in Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, until that day when we can once again meet together in our church building to worship Him.
